Pack a straight-lumber cut list into stock lengths, account for the blade, and see every leftover before you buy material.
Lay out my cuts ↓01 / LINEAR CUT PLAN
Fit parts to a board.
A largest-first, best-fit plan. It is a quick planning aid, not a guarantee of the global optimum.

02 / ROUGH-LUMBER ESTIMATE
How many board feet?
Use rough lumber dimensions and add a waste allowance before pricing. Hardwood retail boards are often sold in quarter-inch thickness conventions, so confirm the supplier's actual sizes.
HOW THIS PLAN IS BUILT
Keep the assumptions visible.
Each requested part is treated as a straight, full-length cut. The planner sorts parts from longest to shortest and places each on the board with the least remaining space that still fits; if none fits, it starts another board. One kerf allowance is reserved per piece. This fast heuristic can use more boards than an exact optimizer on complicated lists.
